“ Atmosphere: 5/5 Staff: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Price: Overall: 5/5 Was down in York for a few days and decided to make this my last meal of my trip and what a meal it was! Walking in you’re met with a cosy restaurant where you can watch the chefs cook on the table side bar. I was seated in the back of the restaurant under some beautiful paper umbrellas, surrounded by traditional Japanese artwork and woodblock prints as well as garlands of Sakura flowers. Very pretty to look at. I’ve lived in Japan and the food from here is honestly better than some of the stuff I had over there. I started with a couple of nigiri, grilled salmon and Mayo corn inari pockets, which were huge compared to other places I’ve been and so fresh tasting! For my main I had the flowing salmon donburi, where staff cut the poached egg in front of me to allow the yolk to ‘flow’. It was not just aesthetically pleasing to watch but tasted phenomenal. It was comforting and nostalgic to eat and honestly, I wish I lived closer because I’d go so often! Absolutely recommend! It’s well worth the price! ”

“ Absolutely amazing, all of it. The atmosphere is relaxed, the decor is beautiful and the staff are helpful and patient. It's the perfect place for a quiet catch up with a friend or a date and there seems to be a function room or two upstairs. The food is authentic, fresh and beautifully served. I've been here twice with 2 different friends and each time was a great experience. I've tried a few different things and can't wait to try more from here. The drinks are refreshing and remind me of what great flavours the natural world can offer - there's so much less sugar in the juices than the stuff we're used to. The food left me feeling clean and not bloated which is a miracle and I look forward to returning to try more food. ”

The food itself was amazing and the sushi itself was fresh and well presented. My favourite part was the miso soup which was rich and flavourful. Would definitely recommend. ”
